It seems like “Frozen” has invaded everything nowadays! Do you feel like that? There is a bit of a Frozen fever and it doesn’t seem to be cooling off anytime soon (pun intended). We have rounded up all the Frozen news and invasions, and frankly, we love it all.
Once Upon a Time
Frozen recently invaded the popular ABC show “Once Upon A Time” as Anna and Elsa’s story weaved into Storybrook. If you aren’t familiar with the show, fairytale stories are brought to life as they enter our real world and try to live happily ever after. Quite a few Disney princesses have visited the show, like Rapunzel, while Snow White is a regular character. And the new season premiered with Elsa invading the town of Storybrook. Watch on Sunday 8/7 central for this continuing story!
Maelstrom at Epcot
A big announcement last week was that Disney will be closing the ride at Epcot’s Norway, Maelstrom, to make way for construction on a new attraction. The new attraction in Norway will be a Frozen ride, taking over where Maelstrom currently resides. While Maelstrom has been a fixture of the World Showcase for many years at Epcot, a new attraction will be a welcome addition as the ride is very dated and short, and doesn’t hold much interest. The new ride is set to open in 2016.
Well, not sure if we can call it an official sequel, but during the airing of the ABC television special “The Story of Frozen: Making an Animated Classic” Disney announced the film “Frozen Fever” which will release in spring of 2015. This animated short will feature an all new song from the same song-writing team of Frozen, as well as all the original characters. The storyline is that it is Anna’s birthday and Elsa and Kristoff want to give her the best birthday ever, but they can’t seem to get past Elsa’s frozen powers.
Frozen Sing-Along DVD
A new version of the Frozen DVD will be released this November, just in time for the holidays! The Sing-Along edition will be in stores on November 7th. You can pre-order your copy today on Amazon.
Frozen Hollywood Studios
This summer was the Frozen invasion at Hollywood Studios with the Frozen Summer Celebration. Most of these additions will be ending at the end of September, including ice skating, frozen sing along and the frozen fireworks celebration. But Disney would like to continue the Frozen Invasion! The Premier Theater, formerly used for the American Idol attraction, has been turned into “For the First Time in Forever: A Sing-Along Celebration” so you can continue to enjoy the sing-along fun!
Frozen Meet & Greets
Both Disneyland and Disney World have wonderful Meet & Greet opportunities for Anna & Elsa. The meet and greet for Anna & Elsa at Disneyland is in Fantasyland near Pinocchio’s Daring Journey. Unfortunately, it does not have FastPasses. The meet and greet at Disney World is at Princess Fairytale Hall. The sisters are available through FastPass which is wonderful, although those passes can be tough to come by! You can also see our favorites sisters in the parade at Magic Kingdom.
First, I predict the most popular Halloween costumes this year will be Anna and Elsa. There may be a little Frozen mania in our house as well! There are dresses everywhere for costumes, but here are the Disney Store’s costumes for the sisters.
Pretty cute costumes, right? But there is, of course, more. We love this adult shirt for Frozen:
While shopping at Target, within 15 minutes we spotted Frozen in almost every department. Here are a couple:
I’m sure if I kept searching, I could find more Frozen fun. I don’t think the invasion will slow down soon, and I’m sure things will be even bigger for the holidays! Just can’t get enough of Frozen! We should just let it go and enjoy!
