Disney Social Media Moms On-The-Road Celebration 2014

The power of social media moms! It’s big! Disney loves to work with social media moms and dads, and that is why they support and encourage blogging and vlogging parents. This is the concept behind Disney Social Media Moms. Every year, Disney invites mom bloggers to be a part of the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration, and last year they launched On-The-Road Celebrations in addition to their yearly gathering to be able to reach even more bloggers. This year, we were invited to attend their On-The-Road event in Phoenix, Arizona.

We stayed at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess. It was a beautiful resort next to a plush golf course. The pools were gorgeous and the grounds were amazing. It was quite a treat for this busy mom of four to stay at such a nice resort and have some downtime. Here are some photos of the beautiful resort in Scottsdale.

The conference was held on Wednesday, June 25th. There were roughly 100 mom bloggers and vloggers in attendance and everyone was definitely in the Disney mood!

We were able to hear from Michelle Himmelberg, Disneyland Public Relations Director, as well as Erin Glover (@gopluto), Disneyland Social Media Director. We were able to get some insight into what is happening for Disney Parks for 2014 as well as some tips on how the Disney Park Blog team put their posts and content together. The Disney Parks Blog team covers both parks (Disneyland and Disney World) and provide content over Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram and YouTube. To follow some of the park’s outlets, here are the links:

If you are visiting the Disneyland resort, you can follow @DisneylandToday on Twitter as they tweet daily from the parks including pictures and sometimes giveaways. You can tweet them questions too! We have had fun tweeting at them and following them whenever we are at Disneyland and California Adventure.

Erin Glover also shared with us some of their efforts this year with the new Disney promotion, Show Your DisneySide. One of her favorite videos was the one with Grumpy Cat. If you haven’t seen the Grumpy Cat video, here it is for a giggle (videos are available to view on our website but may not download through email):

We also heard from Lori Lorenz (@HPPrint), HP Senior Director, Direct Print Services. She shared with us how HP wants to help busy parents with new printing services right from our homes. First, HP now offers hundreds of free printables! They also offer a great ink purchasing program for your printer called HP Instant Ink. Your printer will notify your account that you are low on an ink cartridge and it is automatically shipped to your home at half the price! You can also schedule printables to print at a certain time…like maybe right when you are making dinner? All of this is available on the website You need to register for free on this site to take part in these programs.

HP also has a new website called TwoSmiles where you print greeting cards at home at any time AND you can add a gift card to the card that prints with the card. So if you have a last minute gift you need to get and you don’t have time to run around, you can visit TwoSmiles and get a card and gift card in one! Check it out at They also offer great gifts such as canvas photos, cups and other gifts.

Tracey Clark (@traceyclark), one of the Disney Sisters, spoke on how to take amazing mobile photos. She is a photographer as well as a great Disney blogger. She had wonderful tips on how to use just your phone to take some amazing pictures. I know when we are visiting the parks, our family typically relies on our big fancy camera to get pictures but everyone’s phones can now serve as a great tool. She had useful points about making use of different perspectives as well as repetition, light and composition even with our camera phones! Such great ideas! Visit her website at

We also heard from some amazing mom entrepreneurs who shared with us how they got their product started and encouraged other moms to come up with new products. We heard from Lisa Cash Hanson of SnuggWugg, Romy Taorima of Psi Bands, and Allyson Phillips of Tilty Cups. Check out their products they created and developed themselves!

Our last speaker was Nadine Bubeck, who shared her life story and the story of the birth of her son. @NadineBubeck

We had a surprise celebrity at the end of the conference – it was Grumpy Cat! I had to get a picture with this sweet cat who is probably the smallest cat I have ever seen. And he truly has that grumpy face that everyone loves. You can follow Grumpy Cat at @RealGrumpyCat on Twitter, The Official Grumpy Cat on Facebook, and GrumpyCat on Instagram.

All of this was made possible by Disney, MomSelect and Maria Bailey (@MomTalkRadio, Disney Social Media Moms On-The-Road was loads of fun and offered great blogging tips as well as Disney news for everyone. We received goody bags with lots of fun Disney treats as well as some GoGoSqueeze treats for our kiddos. I brought home this yummy park treat for my kids which they thought was awesome!

We are so excited for our next Disney trip now after all this Disney magic! If you want to connect with Preschoolears more, we are also on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest. Check out all the Preschoolears fun!

Stay tuned for our next post of the latest Disney news and updates!
