Disneyland

Accommodations

The Disneyland Resort has three wonderful hotels to choose from for your vacation. While the park is surrounded by many other hotels, staying on property has amazing perks and privileges that we think make it a great option for traveling with kids. Staying on property offers something that no other hotel can: location! All resorts are very close to the parks, which means less walk time or stroller pushing time for you and your little ones! Here are the perks that come with staying on property at the Disneyland Resort:

Ears Tip A wonderful perk with staying at one of the resort hotels is Extra Magic Hours, where select attractions open one hour before official park opening. Of these attractions at Disneyland, most people arriving early go straight for one of three rides: Dumbo, Peter Pan or Finding Nemo Submarines. Extra Magic Hours have recently been added to California Adventure and includes CarsLand entrance. Guests go straight to line up for Radiator Springs Racers. EMH lineup can begin 1 to 1 1/2 hours before the gates open.

There are many other hotels around the Disneyland Resort area and on the Disneyland website, there is a list of Good Neighbor Hotels which is a great place to start looking. Even though some hotels are possibly across the street, don’t overlook hotels a little farther away. These hotels offer constant shuttle service to and from the Disneyland Resort. The biggest pro to these accommodations is they are friendly to the budget! The cons are that you will have to rely on the shuttle service, which can be cumbersome with little ones and strollers. The shuttle area can be very crowded and time consuming in the evening when your children are tired from a long day at the parks. It can make going back to your hotel for a nap during the day much more difficult as well.

Below are the ratings and reviews for the three hotels in the Disneyland Resort from our parents panel.

Grand Californian Hotel & Spa

Grand California - Preschoolears

The Grand Californian is the only hotel that is located inside the park. It has it's own entrance into California Adventure which is a wonderful perk for those who stay there. It is designed and themed in the craftsman style and is surrounded by beautiful pine and deciduous trees. It also offers guests the option of bunk beds for kids in rooms as well as standard beds. It has the most stunning lobby and a world-class spa for parents to enjoy as well as several dining restaurants. The Grand Californian also has villas for families with options like a full kitchen, two bathrooms and laundry. Disneyland Hotel

While the Disneyland Hotel is the original hotel of the Disneyland Resort, it has been recently renovated with a modern yet classic design. The theme of the hotel is simply Disney and it appeals the most to young children. The newly renovated pools include the amazing Monorail waterslide, and it has access to several wonderful dining restaurants. It is located at the end of the Downtown Disney district which is a short walk to the park, or a quick ride on the monorail, with a station conveniently located right next to the hotel.
