Disney Vacation Club

Disney Vacation Club, or DVC, is a vacation ownership program. Many of our families on the Parents Panel are part of the DVC, so our views are very biased. DVC allows you flexibility with a points system to vacation when, where and how your family wants to. DVC includes not only all the Disney parks, but additional Disney resorts as well as Adventures by Disney and Disney Cruise Line.

When you purchase points in DVC, you purchase any amount of points your family would like or need for a vacation. These points are purchased at what is called your “Home Resort” and there is limited availability through Disney for what resort you want to purchase (some resorts are no longer available for purchase). You have an 11 month window to book at your home resort for a vacation, and only a 7 month window to book at all other locations. Once you have your points each year, you can use them anytime and anywhere you would like. It is extremely flexibile. And you have access to all the Disney Villas at Disneyland and Walt Disney World, as well as other locations in the US.

Disney is known for its amazing parks: Disneyland, Walt Disney World, Disneyland Paris, Hong Kong Disney and Tokyo Disney. Another inclusion with DVC is the many options on Disney Cruise Lines. Disney also has several resort locations outside of parks that are spectacular to stay at, which include Disney’s Vero Beach, Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resort, and Disney’s Aulani in Hawaii.

At Disneyland and Walt Disney World, the following are the resort villas that are part of the DVC:

Disney is always expanding and building new villas and resorts, so there are always opportunities to join the DVC. These villas and resorts can be reserved by non-DVC members as well but availability is limited. Additional perks with DVC include discounts on shopping and dining, and the option to use points at participating Concierge Collection resorts worldwide as well as other RCI locations. DVC Members still enjoy the perks given to guests staying at Disney resorts as well, including Magical Express, Extra Magic Hours, and Disney Dining Plans.

While many of our families are members of the DVC, we are not selling or promoting the program. DVC offers a wide variety of options for families on vacation, not just at Disney parks. And if your family travels to Disney destinations frequently, this may be an investment worth looking into. For more information, visit the DVC website at disneyvacationclub.disney.go.com.

Ears Tip Another way to purchase DVC points is through resale by other DVC Members. While the prices will be less, they have limited use. Resale DVC points cannot be used at WDW hotels, Disneyland hotels, Disney Cruise Line, Adventures by Disney, and Concierge Collection locations. All DVC Villa Resorts are included.
